Join us at Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield for a 9/11 Unity Climb. This climb is designed to bring together Fire Personnel, Police, Military, and Civilians to honor those that we lost due to the events of 9/11, as well as continue to honor those who continue to serve and protect us from foreign and domestic threats.
The 9/11 Unity Climb Challenge will be held from September 3 to September 11. Those interested in participating may do so at either Newman Fitness Center (FS) or Tominac Fitness Center (HAAF) during staffed hours.
Participants will climb 2,071 steps (equivalent to 110 floors) on the stair master, which is the equivalent of the World Trade Center's Twin Towers. Each tower consisted of 110 floors and 2,071 steps. First responders interested in participating are welcome to do so in full gear.
All participants (whether completed on Tuesday morning or by September 11) that complete this challenge will have the honor of signing their name on the 9/11 Unity Climb banner and will receive a free t-shirt.
Interested parties will go to the front desk, inform a staff member that they wish to participate in the 9/11 Unity Climb, and fill out a form to participate. This form is to record your start/end time, as well as to ensure your t-shirt size. We ask that all who participate and finish the challenge to fill out the form to its completion.
Please note: T-Shirts will be available for pickup at both Newman and Tominac Fitness Center's front desk at a later date. Those who complete the challenge will be contacted for pickup.
